Diamicron MR is recommended for type 2 diabetics (adults with non insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus). It is used to normalize blood glucose level as a first line agent or in combination with other drugs.

Long term therapy with this drug also retards the progression of the complications of diabetes (involving eyes & kidneys).
