this ever-increasing amount of scientific information
and evidence, it is important for the medical and pharmaceutical
fraternity to work in co-ordination to disseminate the
scientific information as far and as fast as possible.
This is the reason why we at Serdia have a continuous
association with all the national and international
scientific bodies, to conduct regular CMEs and scientific
updates.
Cardiological
Society of India (CSI)
Serdia is a regular participant in this very important
annual event held for cardiologists in the country.
We have been associated in the form of sponsoring scientific
sessions, involving not only Indian doctors, but also
international speakers. At the CSI Bangalore around
1500 Doctor visited the Serdia stall. All the Serdia
products in the cardiology segment namely Coversyl,
Natrilix SR & Flavedon MR were well highlighted
in various sessions.
Association
of Physicians of India Conference (APICON)
In this annual gathering of physicians, Serdia’s
presence has been felt in the scientific sessions on
not only cardiology but also related to internal medicine
and diabetes. Serdia is involved in a very innovative
way in the scientific sessions, by sponsoring the studies
done by our own clinical research department. One such
example is the presentation of the PREDICT LVH study,
done on Indian patients, which demonstrated the efficacy
of Natrilix SR in reducing blood pressure and left ventricular
hypertrophy.
Other national/regional
meetings
Besides these large-scale meetings, Serdia is also a
very active participant in other national/regional meetings.
This includes, Indian College of Cardiology meetings
and other state chapter of CSI and API. Recently Serdia
participated in the joint International Congress 2004,
held in Ahmedabad. All the speakers in these meetings
are eminent cardiologists and cardio physicians, who
actually disseminate scientific information to the primary
care physicians.
Besides this active partnership in
the cardiological congresses, Serdia is also conducting
clinical trials for new cardiology compounds coming
from the R & D pipeline of SERVIER. This partnership
with some selected institutions ensure that the medical
fraternity in India is involved early on with these
new compounds and that the Indian patients get their
benefits as soon as possible.
Cardiovascular diseases represent one
of Servier's main areas of research. Servier produces
drugs actively promoted for the treatment of hypertension,
heart failure, and ischemic heart disease, and several
new products under development are aimed at potential
new indications in this field. As a demonstration of
our commitment to advances in this field, it is Servier's
aim to initiate, support, and supply education and research
for doctors locally and internationally. To this end,
Servier has decided to create collaborative partnerships
through sponsorship of different organizations and societies,
to help to increase the quality and quantity of projects. |
